Get to know me.

Everything I create is centered around one central purpose: strengthening human connection and understanding. And I believe there are a lot of ways to do that – whether through fiction, humor, film, or in more traditional learning environments.

Catherine is awesome! She brings a strong sense of compassion and understanding that’s disarming and comforting at the same time.

Official Bio

Catherine Wigginton Greene is a writer, educator, and filmmaker committed to strengthening human connection and understanding through various platforms and media.

Most recently, she co-authored the novel Rebecca, Not Becky (Amistad, Dec 5, 2023) with Christine Platt. Praised by Kirkus Reviews for "having savvy fun with stereotypes and the sub rosa operations of female social networks" and Publisher's Weekly as "social satire [that] smoothly evolves into a propulsive page-turner," the novel explores race, friendship, and motherhood while taking a satirical look at performative allyship among wealthy suburbanites.

Catherine also wrote and produced the stage production, Let's Take This Offline – a live sketch-comedy show about the absurdity of modern digital communication – which premiered at Capital Fringe Theater Festival in 2022 and was dubbed "howl-out-loud hilarious" by DC Theater Arts Magazine.

Her accomplishments extend to directing the groundbreaking feature documentary I'm Not Racist... Am I?; writing, producing, and co-hosting the online video-based interactive program Look Deeper: Race; and developing a series of workshops on difficult dialogue called, "Was It Something I Said?" She works in partnership with a network of individuals and organizations committed to equity and justice and has brought her interactive talks to thousands of individuals at national conferences, K-12 schools, colleges and universities, government agencies, NGOs, and major corporations. She brings humor, humility, and curiosity to every room so that people leave feeling informed, inspired, and more connected to one another.

Catherine is currently pursuing her doctorate at The George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development, focusing on emotion and difficult dialogue. She is in love with books, podcasts, and films and is always curious about what you're reading, listening to, or watching. Catherine is based in Washington, DC, with her husband, three daughters, and their goldendoodle puppy (who, yes, they got during quarantine).

Connecting to others fuels Catherine's mission, so please reach out and share what you are reading or inquire about consulting, speaking, and media interests.
